Run-on sentences are independent clauses (stand-alone sentences) that have not been joined correctly. When two independent clauses appear in one sentence, they have to be joined with a comma, a semicolon or a coordinating conjunction (and, but….)
- Example 1: She likes jogging through the country, and she often goes backpacking on her vacations.
- Example 2: Love is blind; envy has its eyes wide open
